“Art is the meeting ground of the world inside and the world outside.”– Eleanor Ulman
Art Therapy is a creative and embodied approach to therapy which allows individuals to access, express and process their experiences, emotions and memories through the medium of visual art..
Perhaps you are experiencing grief, loss, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, loss of purpose and meaning; or you may feel stuck repeating old patterns and behaviours, unable to move forward, and make decisions. When going through challenging times, it helps greatly to have a compassionate other to hear, see and understand us and help make sense of our lives. Such experiences are part of being human. Art Therapy allows to creatively and imaginatively articulate and transform difficult experiences leading to new perspectives and new ways of being in the world.
About
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for nature-based art therapy in my private studio and garden. This means you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the natural surroundings, if you choose, and use various modalities such as drawing, painting, clay play, and collaging to explore and express your feelings.
You may discover that nature and art can soothe, comfort, or bring emotions to the surface — even ignite your imagination, opening up new possibilities as you go forward.
Who Is Art Therapy For?
Nature-based Art Therapy may be helpful for you if you are open to exploring your inner and outer experiences through art making. It is important that you acknowledge the challenges in your life and that you are willing to show up for yourself in an authentic way.
Previous art experience is not required.

Philosophy & Approach
Nature-Based
My practice is eco-based, grounded in the belief that we are creations of nature. The earth is the foundation of our being — our bodies, minds, nervous systems, and consciousness. Without nature, we lose the ability to ground ourselves in sensory awareness, which is essential for a sense of balance, safety, and belonging. The eco-system also needs us. What we do and equally important, how we feel matter very much.
Art-Based
We are creative beings. Through art-making, we reflect both our inner world and the external environment. We are what we see and perceive.
The image-making process can bypass the need for “endless talking” and allows emotional expression that might otherwise be difficult to verbalise. Art making enables self-discovery and can be transformative; Illuminating outdated beliefs, disrupting old patterns, opening new perspectives, and fostering growth.
“What you are supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is change it.
If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.”
-Maya Angelou
Trauma- informed
As a trauma informed therapist, I take my lead from the experts, believing that body-based approaches are a good way of working. Trauma and feelings are in the body, and both art and nature engage our bodies and senses intimately, allowing us to engage with and process feelings in a non-invasive way.
Spiritual Dimension
My work is deeply infused with a connection to the vitality and creativity of nature — both within and without. This connection points to something larger and more expansive than the self. I honour and respect what that might mean for each individual.
